The New London Plan: Shaping Housing for the Future
Join us for an engaging forum-style discussion hosted in collaboration between the London Forum and The London Society on 15th February 2025. This special event will delve into the challenges and opportunities presented by the next London Plan that’s now being developed, with a particular focus on how it addresses the critical need for housing in the capital.
The discussion will bring together leading experts, architects and urban planning professionals to explore how the Plan might set London on a credible path to delivering the high-quality, sustainable, and equitable housing developments we need. While it is important to address the significant challenges brought about by the scale of the housing crisis, this event will seek positive and proactive solutions. Speakers will focus initially on three key topics:
- Spatial development patterns and where will the new housing go?
- What form should it take and how can we ensure its well-designed?
- How do we best meet the specific needs of different socio-economic groups (age, family size, income etc)?
Presentations will be followed by an open discussion, offering attendees the opportunity to ask questions, share perspectives, and contribute to the conversation about London’s future.
The event, will be chaired by our President Ben Derbyshire.
